The Jazz Bridge Project is a nonproft, 501c(3) organization that assists jazz and blues musicians in crisis from the Greater Philadelphia Metro region. Jazz Bridge produces monthly neighborhood concert events throughout the region from October through May, hosted by well-known jazz artists, which bring in revenue to help musicians and vocalists with medical, legal, and personal needs.
Singer-songwriter Suzanne Cloud hosts the Jazz in the Wood series in Collingswood, NJ; pianist Dave Posmontier hosts the Cheltenham Jazz series in Cheltenham, PA; saxophonist Mike Pedicin will be hosting a series in Ardmore, PA, and drummer Rob Henderson will host a fourth series at Center in the Park in Germantown next season.
Jazz Bridge holds annual benefits in the immediate Philadelphia area and at the shore. This year, the organization is featuring guitar legend Pat Martino in Collingswood, NJ and an All-Star Jazz Jam Down the Shore in Somers Point, NJ., featuring over 23 top Jersey Shore jazz musicians.
Through events, grants, and generous donations from jazz fans, Jazz Bridge is able to provide some support to the musicians in our midst who sometimes lead lives of quiet desperation once the spotlight fades.
