About

March 17th, at 3p.m. world renowned drummer Clarence Penn's Quartet plays "Monk, the Lost Files" a fresh re-imagination of the music of Thelonius Monk. His stellar ensemble is: Clarence Penn - drums; Chad Lefkowitz-Brown - sax; Donald Vega - piano; and Yasushi Nakamura - bass.

Clarence has performed for CPFJ many times since 1992, but this is his first CPFJ concert with his own ensemble and we are thrilled to have him perform his unique interpretations of Monk's music at the Allen Theater. Those who attended the Ron Carter Trio performance at HACC last fall will remember the amazing pianist Donald Vega. There will be a youth ensemble performance at 3pm and one 90 minute set by Clarence Penn at 4pm. Following the concert we will host an open Jazz Jam Session in M.J's Coffeehouse at the Theater till 8:30pm - food and drink are available in M.J.s all afternoon. 36 East Main Street, Annville, PA...
