Brahja Waldman (NYC):

Formed in 2008, the group known as Brahja Waldman - or Brahja for short - is a New York/Montreal-based conspiracy plotting the transmutation of timeless soul thru a jazz/earthy/hop cosmic swap. The group is releasing its fifth album, wisdomatic, in the spring of 2016. Brahja Waldman's saxophonist and leader, Devin Brahja Waldman, has performed with the likes of Patti Smith, Thurston Moore, Lydia Lunch, Daniel Carter, Sam Shalabi, Warren Smith, Heroes Are Gang Leaders and many more. He has accompanied his aunt, poet Anne Waldman, since the age of ten. Growing up, Waldman's art guide and guru was legendary pianist Paul Bley. Waldman is co-director of Fast Speaking Music, a poetry and music label in NYC.
