About

French-born, classically trained Stephane Wrembel’s brand of jazz comes from the source—he learned his craft among the Roma at campsites in the French countryside. Declared “a revelation” by Rolling Stone, he hews to the style of Django Reinhardt, but leaves room for strains of North African and Greek music; on close examination, one might even notice the influence of Pink Floyd. Wrembel’s expressive compositions and astonishing playing have earned him fans far and wide, including Woody Allen, whose Midnight in Paris bears Wrembel’s sweet and wistful original score.
