Spanning the worlds of Jazz, R&B and Latin Music, Pablo is an outstanding percussionist and bandleader.  He was a member of jazz great Grover Washington’s band for many years and went on to tour with five-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys.  HIs diverse resume includes stints with Diane Reeves, Eddie Palmieri and Bono.  Batista is also an instructor at The Association of Latin American Musicians (AMLA) and is a recipient of the distinguished Pew Fellowship Award in Folk Art which funded his ground-breaking project, El Viaje (The Journey)....

On March 30, he presents Pablo Batista’s Latin Jazz Ensemble at SOUTH.  This ensemble showcases this master percussionist at his best, pushing his group with his deep sense of rhythm rooted in the traditions of Africa, Cuba and the Caribbean.
